LOS ANGELES, CA – May 2, 2012 – Robert Pattinson has come on board to star in the upcomingfilm “Mission: Blacklist” with Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire committed to direct. The screenplay was adapted by “Band of Brothers” writer and producer Erik Jendresen from the Harper Collins novel Mission: Black List #1 written by military interrogator Eric Maddox with Davin Seay. Ross M. Dinerstein, Managing Partner of Preferred Content, is producing alongside Jendresen and Kevin Waller.
Embankment Films, the international sales and distribution company recently launched by international sales veterans Tim Haslam and Hugo Grumbar will begin selling the film at the upcoming Cannes Film Market.
”Mission: Blacklist” is a psychological thriller that details the true, inside story of the search for
Saddam Hussein and the interrogator, Eric Maddox, who spearheaded his capture.
“This movie is a gripping, edge of your seat thriller,” says Dinerstein. “I have been inspired by
Robert and Jean-Stéphane’s dedication to tell this story in the most authentic way possible, and
I’m thrilled to add Hugo and Tim to our team.”
Pattinson can next be seen in David Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis,” which is premiering at the
Cannes Film Festival in May. Sauvaire’s last film, “Johnny Mad Dog,” premiered at the 2008
Cannes Film Festival where it won the Prize of Hope.

Entertainment and represented by the Curtis Brown Group in the UK. Sauvaire is managed by

The deal was brokered by WME Global’s Graham Taylor and Deborah McIntosh and Preferred
Content’s Kevin Iwashina and Christine D’Souza. WME Global and Preferred Content will be corepresenting the North American rights.

well, it seems he’s really working on getting away from the franchise as much as possible. And this one would REALLY seem to put some distance there.
I like Rob even though I’m not too pleased with the way that he’s let himself be ruled by the she-beast and her minions. No excuse for that. Maybe he was taken over by the body snatchers during NM. Don’t remember seeing any pods in the movie though.
If he does do this, or anything else to break him out of his typecasting then more power to him.

I hafta say, I’m kinda anxious to see this film receive funding. I know Bob has really let his acting skills take a backseat to famewhoring over the past 3 or 4 years…but once upon a time, before the Kristen Stewart School of How to Act More Gooder, Bob was coming into his own. I think his most main stream role as Cedric was on point. And, I also think Little Ashes was phenominal, and as I’ve said long ago, to take a narcissistic opportunist such as Dali – and make him 3 dimentional and *gasp* likeable, was HUGE. I was very impressed with his performance. The boardroom scene in RM brought me to tears, and even tho PB was a huge part of it, Bob’s acting throughout RM wasn’t ALL bad. He did have his moments.
I’m around military and former military personnel every day, and IF Bob can separate from the Edward and Kristen Stewart story of life, I can actually say I would be anxious to see him take on such a role. That is IF he can pull his head out of Scummit’s and Stewart’s asses long enough to develop his own skills as a performer of something other than famewhoring. So, let us hope filming doesn’t begin until AFTER Bob has sold BD2 and the whole saga is over and done with.
I like your way of thinking D’eanna. I agree completely. I think if Rob amps up for this role and really puts his heart into it he can do it. Like I’ve said, he’s a good actor, not great, but he has potential. I am pulling for him. I will go see anything he does. If he does this role right, he could launch himself out of the twilight thing and the other crappy romantic roles and get in with the “real actors”.

In all honesty, I rarely watch these types of films myself. I live it and work in the environment every day, so I do see it as a form of entertainment. However, I think this has the potential to be a very ‘meaty’ role for him. IF he can meet the challenge. Something of this nature will be void of the fuckery, which I believe will help. This isn’t something that is catering to the Tiwtards or Bob’s blind devotion minions – this will require talent. Also, this is the type of film that will bring the male audience that has eluded him in all of his previous works.

I don’t know how he will cut the cord with Shrew and the Edward fans, but this is truly something that he NEEDS to do if he is serious about his acting career. He’s completely miscast as a military interrogator. He has no screen presence whatsoever and he certainly doesn’t project as a tough military guy hunting one of the worst dictators of our time. I mean, really.
I think he’s trying to be A SERIOUS ACTOR, but simply doesn’t have the talent to back that up. Just like the reviews for Bel Ami and all his other films. He collapses under the serious material he takes on and ends up looking ridiculous and laughable.
I almost feel sorry for him because who ever is advising him isn’t taking into account his severe limitations and they keep pushing him into stuff he’s totally unsuited for. How many times are we going to read that his performance was blank, or filled with tics, or just unbelievable and miscast?
That Cosmopolis clip was painful. What’s with all the bug eyed stuff after each line of dialogue? I can already see that movie would painful to actually sit through. Maybe that’s why the trailer was edited so fast and choppy. Just because something tries to be ‘arty’ doesn’t make it good. I’ve sat through more shitty indie movies than I can possibly think of. This looks like one of them.

Sorry D’eanna, have to disagree about the RM boardroom scene. I cringed and chuckled after seeing that. Pierce Brosnan nailed that boardroom scene, that’s anger I felt was real. Bob did the exact same expression, tone, and delivery of that boardroom scene in BD1 where he begs Bella not to have that evil spawn.
Bob will ruin that character and bring absolutely zero credence to that role.
Why he still gets roles is beyond me. I would have thought riding the coattails of twishit would have dried up by now, but I guess bob can sweet talk his way into anything.

From what I have seen, an actor’s performance can be affected in a bad way or a good way depending on who they are acting with. (Sorry, my articulation skills are highly deficient today due to lack of much needed sleep over the past week). For example, in NM, it was painfully obvious that Shrew affected the calibur of performance from every other cast member when she was in a scene. This, btw, was the last film I viewed in this saga shitfest franchise and it was f*ckawful. So, I think when Bob was in scenes with PB, he stepped it up. Same for his scenes with Christoph in WFE. Personally, I can see how his skill – or lack thereof, depends on the performance of those he is perfoming with at any given time. Which explains why twi is such utter shit. 😉
I’ve never thought Rob was that good of an actor. Even before Twilight there was the Dali movie and How to be, and I didn’t think he was very good in either film. He’s not AWFUL, he’s just not good. It just seems as if he goes through the motions, he uses his body and his posture and face to emote when it really needs to come from a much deeper place. I agree that a scene partner can really affect an actor’s performance, but in WFE, for example, I thought his scenes with C. Waltz only heightened his weaknesses. He does have his moments, though, and he’s still young and could get better. But he’d need some help. Chris Pine still works with a coach and I really admire his willingness to learn and improve himself (unlike a certain female actress who shall not be named). At the same time, The man has said that he’s not sure that acting is his calling, so maybe that explains his ambivalence toward it all.
I’m still rooting for him, though. I’m one of the few here that sees/believes that he’s bearding with Kristen in order to cloak his sexuality, so a good, butch action film should help on that score. And we’ve seen him get in shape for a film role before. He could do it again.
I can see where your coming from. If I understand your saying that because of five twi movies acting with stew he has more or less been given nothing to act against, if that makes sense. It could explain his same expressions in other films.
His acting in “The Haunted Airman” was better, and maybe that was due to pre-stew.
Well if he chooses to step away from stew and all the negativity that surrounds her, he could focus on his career. But I kinda get the feeling he likes that sort of stuff.
None of us know what he’s really like. We only see the public side, he could be a real asshole for all we know.

I think, personally, he has lived this existence for so long, it really is all he knows. Sorry to disagree Caileen – but I was blown away by his performance in Little Ashes. I was very cynical going in and was surprisingly impressed. I haven’t seen How to Be, but I watched the Haunted Airman right after Twi came out on video (Pre-f*ckery)and remember thinking how much of a better actor he was in that movie.

WOW! SO finally, Bob has got a new job! Took his bloody time, didn’t he? I’ve heard all about the Nonnies twirling and fangirling over the fact that he’s “apparently” playing some sort of military guy and screaming Oscar nod again, although there are some who are saying they can’t actually see him pulling off that kind of role. And I’m sure a lot of these fangirls are some of the same ones who signed the 70,000 name petition to get him kicked of Twishite when he was named as Edward because he didn’t live up to their image of Edward. Anyway, the only way he will be able to have any credibility in that role is IF he manages to get away from all things Twishite, and forgets everything that Butch has taught him in acting skills, or lack there of!

Yep, we have agreed on that. And I saw him as Cedric a few weeks back, and he just look SOOOO young! But even then, he was pretty ok. I think it all went wrong for him when he started listening to Butch. Just because she’s been around the business for so long, she obviously thought she knew way more than he did and tried to “coach” him. Pity that she’s lacking in those great acting skills and dragged his performance down with her. But then again, she doesn’t give those who act opposite her much to work with, so maybe they just can’t be arsed to try to show what they can do.
I have to say, he wasn’t too bad when he played opposite Christoph in WFE and he did have slightly more chemistry with both Reese and Emily. But once again I have to ask, who WOULD have chemistry with a wooden gay/bi penis envying teenage boy wanna-be? 😉

I remember one scene in NM in particular with PFach and she was fed her line and repeated it, and you could just see the blank gaze on his face like he was thinking ‘that’s really what you’re giving me to work with’. LMFAO! It was just a split second, but I nearly spit my soda all over the theater. The ONLY thing that made the movie worth the price of admission! 😉 But, her scenes with AG were just as bad. No wonder she can’t stand her. Can you just imagine MIHML giving acting tips to Ashley. PML at the thought of that.

I actually remember watching her in “Adventureland” with the guy out of The Social Network, and they were messing around in a pool at someone’s house, and the way she sort of jumps up from under the water was so fake it was like a 7 or 8 year old being told to “pretend for the camera”. And this from someone who had made a few movies by then.

Yep I hear them talk about all the lesson plans they have to put together, its a nightmare. To top it off they have very strict guidelines on how they can discipline students these days.
Very little pay for the huge amount of work they do!
Tell me about it. The kids all know what their “human rights” are, and as soon as you tell them off, they just get all stroppy, some even attacking you, because they know you’re not even supposed to touch them, unless they are considered a danger to themselves or others. When I was at school, we had a lot of respect for teachers because we knew if we misbehaved, we’ve get the cane, and then more punishment when we got home from our parents for showing them up in school!

I think he’s with Skaterboy. I agree with Caileen, he’s gay and they’re “semi bearding”. I live in L.A. and have seen enough actors and let me tell you most of them are gay. Yes, most of them, meaning probably 90%. This bearding thing is done so often that it’s really not a big deal. My niece is also in the business and is a reality show star. She dates a professional athlete. A gay actor can’t come out and be taken seriously as a leading man. Just can’t. If there are whispers of an actor being gay, and there have been way more than whispers about Rob, then you can bet he probably is.
Anyway, that’s what I think and I have too been on the fence at times about his sexuality and this fake relaysh with KS. But now after all this time and watching the shitshow with them, I am convinced that they are nothing more than friends, drug buddies, whatever. I think Rob likes the “boys”. And that’s totally fine. He should not come out or it WILL hurt his career. I am happy for him with his new role, it will hopefully help him man up and come across more believable and not this puffy romantic hero. I agree, Movinon. I loved I am Legend, and think he did a good job with WFE, even though the book was a “wishy-washy”. I just thought it was shame that they didn’t focus more on the older Jacob character because there was a lot more of him in the book, but that could have just been down to the screenwriter.
That’s what my hubby said. He really liked the book and when he seen the movie he said there was very little interaction with the circus people, as opposed to what was in the book. He found it interesting how traveling with the circus used to be.

Computer has been playing up all day and so this is the first time I’ve managed to get on, and after sifting through all the comments. I gotta agree, pre-Spew his acting was much better. Love Little Ashes, my favourite of his films tbh and Haunted Airman is sort of believable even though he was much younger then. If anyone has seen Bad Mothers Handbook, he’s just as dorkable there too.
The sooner he gets away from Spew he can then concentrate on his own acting instead of taking tips from shebitch, as she’s doing him no favours, I wish he’d wake up and realise that. Maybe she thinks she’s helping him, who knows, but its obviously not working.

That’s how its said in the book… I haven’t seen the clip so I can’t possibly comment and since I don’t live in the US I guess I’m not a dialect expert either. But the book is weird ass, like really weird, how the hell they actually made it into a film is beyond me. Accent and bad acting apart it should be an interesting thing to watch. Although I’m not really a fan of Cronenberg… too weird.

I have read a lot in DL that Rob is a gay, and they all think he is.. Rob pings a lot of folks’ gaydar and has a less than credible track record with women, in my opinion. For me, it’s not about Rob fulfilling stereotypes of what gay people look or how they behave as I don’t buy into that to that sort of thing.
I think gay people are good at spotting their own, so if the DL regulars think Rob and Kristen are both gay, I’m thinking they might be right.
I can say that gays can be wrong, because a lot of gays try to hang up with my boyfriend and they were wery surprised, then they were wrong.. i’m just saying, Rob doesn’t look like a gay..and not everyone have to be a gay in hollywood just becouse 90 % are..
I’m not 100% but I’m pretty sure DL regulars are just…well people like us. They dont have any inside information, they just have their own theories and slant on the showmance.
Yeah, you’re probably right. DL regulars are most likely humans like the rest of us. But like I said a lot of them just happen to be gay. Research studies have recently connected gaydar to evolutionary biology in the sense that it’s a survival skill that’s developed over time to identify predators vs. allies. It’s not just about seeing someone and deciding they “look gay,” it’s an intuitive response, and a pretty reliable one at that.
Like I said, gay men and women are good at identifying their own. And a whole lost of gay people seem to think that Kristen and Rob are part of the family. I tend to agree with them. You don’t have to though.
And I’m just going to say that there’s nothing wrong with being gay. And I’m not saying that either one of you has said otherwise but I just don’t see the need to defend or protect anyone’s straightness. He could be gay and lot of people think so. NBD.
How can one have an “intuitive response” to someone on their TV? We view things (and they are broadcasts) through filters; emotional, physical or whichever.

I don’t think Succumbing is saying that Rob isn’t gay, so there is no need to prove a theory. She is just saying that the DL commenters are no more special or have clearer insight than those of us who comment here, some of whom may very well be gay too.
So I tend to agree with those that think he’s gay. Someone sort of questioned my reasoning in a round about way, and I explained myself. I’m not trying to prove a theory, I merely cited scientific theory in my explanation. I actually do think that gay men and women have unique insight into these things. It’s fine that you disagree though!

I was only questioning people’s assertion about others’ sexuality and using DL posters as some measure of accuracy.
We can’t know for sure who’s gay and who is not by just observing mannerisms on TV. We can make guesses if it matters to us, but we just don’t know. He may be or not.
Personally I think it was be fun to watch the robsten meltdown if it turns out that he is.

Oh FFS, who gives a shit if he’s gay/bi or fucking celibate? You can’t tell what a persons sexual preference is unless they TELL you. Elton John was MARRIED in the 1980’s, but STILL came out of the closet when he decided he couldn’t stand living a lie anymore. Just because someone spends a lot of time with the girls in school DOESN’T make them gay. Don’t forget, he has 2 older sisters and probably felt more relaxed around girls. Now that he hangs more with the guys, all of sudden he’s gay/bi. Maybe people should take into account the fact that English guys CHOOSE to spend their down time with their male friends even if they ARE single, dating, engaged or married!
I think Rob’s sexuality is very relevant to the whole PRsten thing, which is why I bring it up. I’ve always thought he was gay and probably always will. But I agree that there’s no way to know what his sexuality is unless he tell us so. But just like there’s no way for me to know for sure that he’s gay, there’s no way for you or anyone else to know that’s he’s straight. We’re all just speculating about topics relevant to that construct called PRSTEN. I really don’t know what the controversy is all about.
WTF has his sexuality got to do with PRsten? Most of us have said before that PRsten was dreamed up because the sheep kicked off when Rob was seen out and about with Nikki Reed. They kept screaming about how “Edward” shouldn’t be dating his “sister”. Only the start of them mistaking fiction for real life. It was only after Butch filmed The Runaways that the PR bullshit went into overdrive, and most of us say it was because she realised she is gay/bi, and Scummit realised that they couldn’t have a gay/bi Bella as nobody would want to watch the movies anymore.
Anyway, I’m sick of all the blah, blah, blahing about his UNKNOWN sexual preferences, (although a some of us on here do KNOW certain things from social media), so please let me know when it’s all stopped and it’s safe for me to come back and post.
Caileen, I agree the issue may have a lot to do with why they are trying to pass themselves off as a couple. And just like no one can say for sure whether either is gay or straight, no one can say for sure whether they are a real couple or just for show. It’s all just opinion and impression. It does lend itself to PR either way.

About 2hrs ago I was going to go on a rant about people continuing to question the sexual orientation of two people we don’t know, but kept my mouth shut well because I didn’t have the energy or what purpose would it serve. Rob said he only hung out with girls in high school. Anyone else remember him saying that in an interview? Most straight people hang out as friends with people of their own gender. (That’s why a bearding agreement works so well to hide being gay or bi.) But hanging out with girls in hs doesn’t prove Rob’s gay or bi. And dating girls in the past doesn’t prove he’s straight either. Ellen DeGeneres went to prom with a guy and has pictures of herself with guys she used to date long ago, but she’s gay – not even bi. Nothing is going to prove that Rob is gay or bi except him saying so.
KS pings for a LOT of people, but that doesn’t prove she’s gay or bi. There are definitely “tough” women in the world who are straight, and there are very feminine women who are gay or bi. That guy Eric Maddox, who Rob is going to portray in a movie, pinged for me yesterday when I saw him speaking on youtube. Then I read he’s married with 4 children! Pinging isn’t foolproof. Although, being married to the opposite sex doesn’t prove someone is straight either. We’re hearing more and more about husbands or wives finding out the other is gay.
Really, all we can do is guess.
Totally, it’s all speculation. I just think that showmances are meant to hide something about one’s personal life. I just don’t buy that they’ve cooked up this arrangement just to make twilight profitable. And I don’t think that Rob would commit to a 3-year showmance just to hide Kristen’s sexuality. I think he’s hiding his out of necessity as well.

Here’s my 2 cents, wrt Booby’s acting skill: I really liked him as Dali. I liked him in the Haunted Airman. I liked him as Cedric, and even as Tyler. I saw WFE, and was unimpressed. He reminded me entirely too much of Edward.I also think that by then, he’d had too many Act More Gooder lessons from Butch. Apparently BA is a turd, and I doubt I’ll buy the dvd. Idk if I’ll try to see Cosmo, since I don’t usually care for Cronenberg films.
