Gossipslop has finally decided to speak out on the EPIC lovebirds reunion. Well some might call it that as they neither confirmed nor denied anything. Apparantly GC’s sources (there are so many these days lol) can confirm they are talking *gasp* you mean they were both probably at that secret Summit meeting that supposedly happened this weekend? What a freaking coincidence, GC went on to say this which has wool flying everywhere:

Us, nonstens, at points of desperation, went through phases of going through all prior pics and pointing out any unfamiliar female that made multiple appearances in R’s entourage (ie the enigmatic blonde figures). But nothing ever results of it.
JJ, It’s possible that they do not go out in public together or that she’s been cropped from pics or not even photographed because the focus is on Rob. R was recently photographed at a bar by fans sitting with two unknown girls so it’s possible that he’s not always recognized and flies under the radar.

Yep! I’m sure there were certain stipulations in the contract about a fauxmance (or at least a stipulation were they weren’t allowed to openly deny any romantic connection with one another). I didn’t know that there were different contracts signed for BD…that’s interesting…it could mean a ton of different things.
What’s actually pretty pathetic about the whole thing is that the relationship was always a joke, with all the blurry pics and group dates and whatnot, but it didn’t matter, because the fans did the work to make it more. The fans essential took nothing and turned it into ‘epic love’. They read into every little glance and every little comment. They didn’t need any greater confirmation than blurry pics and strategically dropped comments, because the fans invented their own confirmation from things that were essentially meaningless. Who knows, the same might happen for this reunion that’s set to happen. How much of it will be an actual ‘reunion’ where Rob openly expresses his forgiveness and Kristen openly expresses her love, and how much of it will be Rob and Kristen just being publically civil to one another and having the fans invent a story of eternal love? I’m guessing that it will mostly be the latter, with maybe a group date or a hand hold thrown in for good measure.

Can a movie studio contractually obligate 2 actors ‘date’ offscreen, though? It seems unlikely that it’s part of a contract. I can’t imagine something like that even being legal.
Money is a very persuasive motivator… It’s all in how you spin things to get what you want… Hollywood studios are notorious for their motivation techniques with those celebs that will do anything for money… Many books and memoirs written on this…..
And that is not unique to the entertainment world..they just talk about it publicly while other industry insiders don’t for the most part… All IMHO as usual…
HW contracts can be as outrageous as anything IMO…it’s all about establishing as much of a controlled variable for prime financial gain. Imagine a pre-nup contract and it could be quite comparable.
The contract prob wouldn’t just bluntly state “you need to pretend to date” but might state something akin to it being imperative to remain as vague and create the proper illusions for successful promotion. There would definitely be restrictions on behaviour and conduct, including maybe a clause about attempting to promote a certain ‘leading’ actress for the ‘benefit’ of the franchise. But they’d also include incentives such as free show tickets and free vacation trips (they’d just send both of them on the same flight, to the same place, blah blah blah). The company could just as easily have brought these two together for business dinners that the public could easily misinterpret as group date nights. As well as putting these two up in the same hotel for prepping for award events, not to mention providing the use of the same vehicle for transportation of both to and fro from anywhere they please. Really anything that individually may seem harmless, but in-stream of things can create quite a controlled environment for whatever ‘image’ they’d like the public to perceive.

The new issue of People magazine, on stands Friday, says the couple
is “slowly reconnecting” and actually got together last weekend.
“They are not just talking by text or by phone. They have seen each
other face-to-face in Los Angeles,” said People magazine’s J.D. Heyman.
Stewart and Pattinson famously broke up in July after she was caught cheating with director Rupert Sanders.
Pattinson was said to be heartbroken, but a source tells the
magazine, “Not speaking to someone you thought was your be-all and

“Everybody who knows this couple thought that they would probably reconnect, and at this point they are both trying to figure out what their next step is as far as a friendship,” said Heyman.
It’s interesting that the editor says that they are trying to rebuild a friendship and not a romance. I wonder if they are going to take it in steps until they announce a full reconciliation or simply let the fans think what they will and simply not say anything as that has worked for them in the past.
There was an interview that Kristen did during the SWATH filming, for an Australian magazine I think, where she referred to both Rob and Taylor as her friends so maybe all the references about her boyfriend that she has made in recent months have been about Rupert after all, and I think the timeline would match. Also, I think it was during one of the BD1 premieres that Someone asked Rob something about Kristen being his girlfriend and he responded “don’t be ridiculous”, so maybe they’ve only ever been friends. Anyway, this is just endless speculation, and I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Another thing to keep in mind is that not a single one of Rob’s friends, and this includes Tom who worked with KS, have publicly said anything in her support. And, most importantly of all, just a month ago Rob was on Kimmel talking about dogging and the week before he called her a sociopath. And now everything is ok?? Ha, I don’t think so.

IMO – I am on the fence about the Liberty and Rupert. I do think it is kind off that Liberty has already replaced her cheating bastard of a hubby. I mean, that was QUICK. They say the best way to get over a man is to get under another one – but it almost makes me think this guy was waiting in the wings. And, as for public remorse? Rupert has shown NONE since his public groveling to the press. So, for me, it’s a tough call.

Spent a week in the LA, Sherman Oaks, Thousand Oaks, and Los Calabas (as well as a day in HW area) last summer and I’m tellin ya – those people all tint their windows. Now, this chick says ‘it was no big deal’ because she lives in LA. Well, I asked her if it was no big deal to her, why tweet about it? Seriously?!?! The onslaught has only begun. I don’t know if this has been already posted here, but an interesting rumor is going around about a meeting with Rob, Kristen and Summit. It seems Summit teams has established what they expect from Rob and Kristen. Kristen is suppose to carry on her role: “I am a repented cheater, but I am still a badass bitch” while Rob is suppose to play the role: “the pride-less, undignified, eunuch, forgiving wimp”. Well, “check” on both performances.
In my eyes, Rob has just confirmed my suspicious, he is a gay or bi famewhore who hides behind Kristen skirts… Really attractive Rob!
It does make him look completely castrated. LOL I agree.
But, when BD contracts were signed, I’ll just bet they took any get out of jail free card he had. I honestly don’t think he has any other choice BUT to sell it. Bren, I agree, we all have to endure things in our professional field that we disagree with but we have to draw a line at some point, Rob didn’t and now he is harvesting the consequences. And if it is true that Kristen had an affair instead of a weird publicity stunt than part of the contract would be void and Rob could have come clean out of all of this but he didn’t want to because of the money (IMO). And the irony is that IMO in the long run this will be a bad move for his career, his greed will be his down fall.

Rumors that the relationship of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson is on the mend are prompting speculation over whether their love is an everlasting one, or the well-timed reunion is a political coup meant to reinvigorate the Twilight fan base ahead of the release of the final installment of the billion dollar franchise.
To date the franchise has pulled in more than $1 billion in domestic box office sales (and and additional $1.5 billion worldwide).
“We’re going to be fine,” Stewart told reporters on Sept. 8 when asked about her relationship with Pattinson at the Toronto Film Festival, more than a week before whispers of a reunion appeared in the press. For the young actress, who topped our list of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood this year, even an opaque statement on the possibility of reunion with might have been just what the doctor (or publicist, more likely) ordered to guarantee Twilight’s box office goes out with a bang.
When news of Stewart’s infidelity broke in July (she was photographed with and admitted to a relationship with Rupert Sanders, who directed her in Snow White And The Hunstman), my colleague Dorothy Pomerantz noted that her public apology was a rare plea for attention from the media.
“Stewart has never seemed to care much about her public perception,” she wrote. “She rarely smiles on the red carpet and often look deeply uncomfortable parading around in fancy dresses.” But what Pomerantz read as a heartsick (albeit very public) letter from a 22-year-old to her boyfriend, in hindsight may have set the groundwork for an orchestrated reconciliation.
For the good of the production, industry insiders speculate the pair may have put their differences aside and sat down for a bit of political strategizing in their mutual best interest. After all, both of the actors have staked their professional reputations on the films. Stewart earned $34.5 million last year, primarily thanks to her roles on the Twilight saga. Pattinson was right behind her–he took home $26.5 million. Both have much to gain if Breaking Dawn Part 2 is a success—and much to lose if it isn’t.
“People in Rob and Kristen’s position have to play politicians,” says Michael Heller, CEO of Talent Resources, a New York-based marketing firm that matches celebrities with branding opportunities. Like politicians, the personal lives of celebrities are up for critique—and play a definite role in their professional success (whether it’s a presidential campaign or a film release).
Setting the relationship on the rights (at least publicly) could be little else than a campaign strategy for the pair. Given recent reports that at a recent secret face-to-face meeting between Rob and Kristen, Rob insisted that they both have their respective attorneys and reps present, an all-business reconciliation seems par for the course.
For a celebrity couple to portray a fictional couple in a film only increases the pressure put on that “real life” relationship, Heller says. “If right before that movie comes out there’s a split it can absolutely affect sales.”
He echoes what FORBES contributor David Vinjamuri pointed out this summer: that the bad press of a breakup presents a very real danger for the last film of the Twilight franchise – The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, which hits theaters in November. Beyond that, he wrote, “It begs an even bigger question: what is the financial risk (and opportunity) of stars whose lives suddenly overshadow a brand franchise?”
In my understanding of the industry—and Heller’s career as an industry heavyweight behind me (he’s repped Lindsay Lohan, people. He understands spin)—that financial risk is precisely what explains the actions—and reconciliation—of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson this week. Their real-life relationship has threatened to eclipse (bad Twilight joke) the relationship of their on-screen characters, presenting a possible box-office disconnect for their fans.
Particularly with the rise of social media, and the around-the-clock surveillance of celebrities, the movie going experience has changed, Heller says. You go to a movie and you see Jennifer on the screen but you’re also thinking about what she wore when she got coffee last week in L.A. When is she going to get married? And how sad it would be if she’s too old to have a baby.
One thing, then, is certain: Kristen and Rob (and, perhaps most importantly, Summit Entertainment) do not want fans to watch Bella and Edward and think about anything but true, eternal, vampire love.
