Person B, on the other hand, has participated in some poorly executed PR stunts (allegedly, since we are all in the end, projecting here) during which, as far as we know, no people or animals were harmed. He possibly also forgave Person A for cheating on him, although we can’t be sure of that, since we don’t know the real nature of their relationship, before or after Person A’s indiscretion. In any case he probably rescued Person A from total disaster, when he could instead have helped destroy her.

@Shailene – Forgiving something does not imply that you approve of it. Quite the opposite in fact. If you approved, there would be nothing to forgive. Perhaps you have heard the Bible story about how Jesus once prevented the public stoning of an adulteress by a vengeful mob. Even a non-believer would not, I think, assume that the mercy shown there implies that Jesus approved of adultery and, in fact, at the end of the story, that is made completely clear!
Because we don’t know the nature of their relationship, we don’t actually know if Kristen cheated on Rob at all or, if she did, whether he has actually forgiven her. But we do know he definitely has helped limit the extent of her public lynching. Whatever his other short-comings, and I’m sure they are many, I would have thought anyone who cared about Kristen would have been grateful to him for that at least and it’s a bit rich of her more extreme “nonbert” Krisbians, tearing into him after he saved their “queen’s” butt. IMO, he’s comfortable to hang out with her, be her friend and even do photo ops but she’s the one who tries to prove something more here. Is he fake for not holding her hand? Why should he? The fact that the time stamps are removed, tells us that the poster doesn’t want anyone to know exactly when it happened. When we do see time stamps, it’s because R/K want us to know when it was. Think about it. What difference does it make WHEN Booby partied with JP and VV? It’s recent. Either this week, or last. I think a huge weight would lift off Rob’s shoulders too if the ex fans really let him go. He’s an actor but lots of his fans have been continually beating his acting confidence to the ground by making his personal life and the people he hangs out with the crucial aspects of their fandom. IMO, he was so good in Cosmo because under the strong influence of passionate Cronenberg, he was able to believe in his potential. The potential lots of his fans kept dismissing by making it clear what‘s important to them and what doesn’t matter at all. Before Twilight he was a promising actor who was charismatic as Cedric, brave enough to take a role of Dali and talented enough to pull off a weird comedy like HTB. Then Twilight came and he gained his “fans”. The fans who divided themselves in two enemy camps called Robsten and Nonsten, putting him in the middle of their war. They’ve been doing nothing but threatening him to take their side. IMO, the result was he lost all confidence and faith in his acting abilities and started his mission to attend to his fighting fans as if he felt he couldn’t afford to lose any of them. He started to look tense on the camera, he was afraid to go after the roles he wanted. Isn’t it a coincidence he was at his worst in BA, the movie shot in times when the fan craziness hit its peak? IMO, Cronenberg helped him to rediscover his acting confidence but he still seems to think he needs them. He doesn’t. He was able to function without them before and there are the filmmakers eager to open him the doors to their own success outside of Robsten/Nonsten fandom. The more fans he loses now, the more definite this separation will be and he will have no reason trying to please them anymore. He will have a chance to have a new start without the threatening fans disappointed with his personal life. I’m glad he’s so lousy at this PR game, shaking the grounds of both Robsten and Nonsten. It’s a way to set both him and them free.
@333, Any actor in the film business needs fans. Its a sad reality that just good looks and talent aren’t enough to be able to survive. Rob wants to keep his fans. If his ex-fans or those who are irritated by what he’s been doing the past couple of months let him go, his only fan left will probably be you. Its generally not possible to be a huge fan of someone’s and not be involved in their personal lives especially if you look them up on the internet. You tend to become a fan of actors that are also (projected) nice people in real life.
Rob. He was good in Remember Me and that was when the craziness was at its peak. He was bad in BA because he couldn’t pull off that kind of a role and it was a stupid move on his part. Cosmopolis, yes it was an impressive performance considering that the role was rigid and boring as hell. You can’t blame his bad acting on fans and ex fans. There are many celebs that face higher levels of hate from the public than Rob does. Even Kristen gets so much more hate than him. Take Kristen for example, people have been hating on her for so long even pre-scandal because of her bad behavior but as an actress she never changed. She infact seemed very confident in the movies she took on. It didn’t “dampen”her performance. She’s always been dull but she plays dull well.
Rob brought this on himself by fooling his fans and you can’t expect his ex fans to just “let it go”. He fooled them, the only way they can get back is by mocking him. Myself included. I think the main difference in our point of view is the importance of fans in this acting business. I believe the most important element for every movie is an audience, which doesn’t automatically equal to fandom. IMO, Rob’s fans believe they are bigger and more powerful than they truly are. Movie markets are big, with many movies being produced per year. What can a business man do when his business is struggling or things aren’t the way he wants them to be? He has two options. He can either try to attend to his old customers or he can take his business elsewhere and do complete re-branding. That’s what Rob has been doing. He made a very weird, indie with DC, shot a futuristic indie, plans to work with a French director experienced in war documentaries etc. It’s all non Hollywood, non romantic, independent cinematography. One year from now his movies will be offered, promoted and sold to different people who want to see a movie based on the genre, direction, story and performance and they will judge him by this, not some pictures on Popsugar, the site they most likely have no idea even exists. Whether he’ll succeed or fail is not in the hands of Robsten/Nonsten or ex fans. It doesn’t matter whether they think he is a horrible person for pretending to date KS. Everything is in his hands and the hands of the people who make and sell the movies. At this moment the only thing he’s selling you is his own celebrity. An image that still exists as a post Twilight byproduct that’s reaching its expiration date anyway. IMO, it’s not like Rob wouldn’t love to sell you his work too (even more $ for him) but he can’t. You already told him you’re not interested. IMO, there’s no point to redesign a store that’s about to close and move. Obviously, Rob will have some fans that will follow all aspects of his journey but their number corresponds to Cosmo BO numbers. Everything else will be about the audience of concrete movies. Whether he’ll be working with major studios or independent productions, whether he’ll focus on commercial or rather artistic movies, all these factors will influence the outcome. Maybe one day he’ll accept a role in a major studio movie focused on the predominately female audience. Maybe the studio will decide to use PR games as a promo tool and he’ll be facing his former fans again and they will turn their back on him and boycott the movie. If this happens I’ll be like “See Robert Pattinson? You shouldn’t have pissed them off”.My advice to him? Avoid such roles.

Rachel, IMO people are responsible for their own actions, even the vicious online wars that happen on internet and interfere with the life outside. This behavior you can see is nothing but the consequence of the lifestyle we live in. People are being connected, yet more and more isolated. Individualism rules the world. All these crazy sheeps are usually women, married, divorced, single.. it doesn’t matter. Their needs aren’t fulfilled in their real world, therefore they seek escapism in the virtual world that allows them to relatively anonymously vent up all their pent up aggression and frustration they wouldn’t be allowed to express in the real world and to the actual source of their anger without being judged, persecuted and punished for their actions. Whether it’s a stressful job, disappointment in love or just the boredom and stereotype of everyday life, you have to search for the trigger in their everyday environment. Celebs like Rob are nothing but a tool, target and purpose to fight over something. A substitute for their need to fight and seek a stimulation in their lives. Internet is full of these tools as people argue everywhere and about everything. They try to hurt each other in an attempt to protect their egos and release the adrenaline. They need to sort out their personal lives. Other solution doesn’t exist IMO.

Real as Nonsten or the real fans of his work? IMO, being left with Robsten and Robsessed is like being left with nothing. I highly doubt they will watch his future movies. Look at his imdb board. Every thread about R/K generates more posts in one day than a movie news in one month. I can see them increasing his Internet popularity by reading gossips and ogling his pics but that’s it. I don’t see him having a stable fandom in the future. If his movies will be good and he’ll remain being an actor, I think he’ll have a career similar to Ben Affleck’s. People don’t go to see his movies because he’s good looking, even if they think he’s good looking. Ben doesn’t have a huge fandom either.
Real fans….fans of his work…..I have to agree with that aspect…I do think he won’t have much of a fandom left down the line…..the real fans are leaving now…the robsessed and robsten will be lef and I bet once that’s gone he’ll have some that stuck it out for him but not many….if he keeps going he’ll have total respect for him lost by everyone…I think once someone hotter or a bigger movie comes out they’ll be gone …..news n gossip love them now for the traffic….new couple well hot couple will transfer their stories off….to me that’s one reason their still around….the circle of fans running to the gossip sites to fight them following ppl on twitter to get fake stories to get more traffic to their site which brings more drama but hits to the site
But this is again about the exaggerated importance of the fans, fadoms and tabloids. It’s like movie can’t be made and sold without this. Why should his movies have to be big and hot? I don’t know if it’s because it was part of my studies at collage that I was able to see the other side of the cinematography but there’s a whole world outside of HW, gossips and fans. It’s impossible for me to overlook that. The whole European cinematography, non US cinematography or even US indies. This is the direction he’s talking right now. It may be invisible for people who focus only on Hollywood and the mainstream top 5 movies but it exists. How often do you read about Michod, Herzog or Sauvaire in gossips? May guess is almost never. Yet, they have a pretty productive career. Working on their projects with them means sailing their boat. RP can sell you his image and you might not buy it but as for his future movies they won’t be sold to his called fans. Like you said, those ex fans will go for something bigger and hotter. After all, he gained them with movies like HP and TW created for the masses. The movies he’s working on right now don’t try to be big or hot. They won’t be.
Rob was out again last night at a Bday party in LA while K was with her hipster friends in TX…….If ppl can not see the writing on the wall then they never ever will….

What I find very odd is that we don’t see rob with his old mates anymore…Tom, Marcus, Sam and Bobby..they were always together. I know circumstances change but even so..the only recent get together that I can recall was with Bobby in New York just weeks after the ‘momentary indiscretion,during cosmopolis promotion. Out of all of Rob’s friends Bobby was the only one who seemed to distance himself from the nasty little Madam. The com mentors on Obsessed are worried at the company Rob is keeping after the latest photos…at least these people are successful, mature, intelligent people rather than a bunch of immature, dopey, hangers on.
I agree lindyuk. In the past, Bob spent lots of his down time with HIS friends. Now….nothing. He used to travel all over to go to his friends shows. All we see are the traveling circus attending these events now. Not even a visit to London, which surprises me most of all. I wonder what family Pattz thinks about all the fanfare? @333 I think the real drama about Rob started when he let people think that Edward had come true by the Robsten thing. He has never stood up to deny or confirm a romantic relationship with Kristen, on the contrary he has played along with her the guessing game, “keep them guessing” and on doing so Robsteners can keep feeding their Ed/Bella sweaty dreams.
Many people just think he’s a spineless doormat because, like Edward, he accepts whatever his girlfriend fancies. He doesn’t allow people know the real him, as on one hand he states that he doesn’t understand cheating or hates cheating but on the other hand he went through one of the most humiliating cheatings I’ve ever seen but one month and a half later he was by her swimming pool with a towel, a cup of coffee and a big smile on his face for her… He states he’s private but he keeps being papped with Stew or without Stew.
He has never come off as a strong minded man with convictions, morals or values, he’s totally ambiguous (and spineless if you ask me) and that’s the reason why many people can go on seeing and labeling him like Edward, despite he plays ruthless roles like in Cosmopolis. It’s the ambiguity about his real character and his lack of balls to stand up for himself and cut off the Robsten/Nonsten drama what makes a joke out of him.
I heard he was again at a drunk Bday party last night or something. Now whats the whole point in bragging about quitting smoking when you’re always drunk as hell. The net effect i the same. I read on the GC boards and I agree with some of them. They said Rob has been behaving like a total jerk schmoozing around with H-wood A listers these days. Kristen, on the other hand, she doesn’t really try to schmooze too much. She doesn’t really kiss ass. I have seen that. The only big name (not really) that she hangs out with is Katy Perry. Rob kisses ass a lot. Kristen, although highly selfish, rude and mean is self-confident. She respects herself for whatever she is. Rob, on the other hand, is so diffident that its not really cute. I cannot understand how anyone who had has been through such a scandal as Stewpot has how they would have the nerve to go and collect an award for the role that cost her Director his marriage. I believe she’s done. HW is overpacked with actresses of her age – Jennifer, Shailene, Emma, Emma again, Mia, Carey – more likable, more talented and more emotionally stable. They’ll take all good parts. They already do. Focus was originally offered to Emma Stone, The Big Shoe – to Mia. The girls turned them down, and now K’s struggling to get the movies made ’cause nobody wants to costar or finance them. I think she uses heavy drugs and is heading to a meltdown.
I wish she just goes back to college, I will really respect her if she just goes back to college somewhere outside LA, takes time off, goes to an acting school or theatre classes and comes back with a bang. The new and improved Kristen Stewart. I will really like to see her evolve. As long as she stays the way she is like, she’s not going to get my respect.

I cannot support an actor who is not able to speak the truth in an interview and often contradicts himself because of the stuff he makes up. He turns out to be funny and hilarious in the beginning but after a time it will backfire on him because people don’t like to be fooled.
I agree with lindyuck about Stewpot winning the MTV. I hope she enjoys it… She can put it next to a pic of Ruppie and the SWATH armor. Regarding what Rob sees in Stew, maybe it’s about the skeletons both of them keep in their respective closets. As for Stew getting roles again, I’m not as confident as you. She has a stiff competition out there, there’re a bunch of really talented actresses who are not conflictive and don’t draw gossip press everywhere they go. Stew will get film roles, of course but she’s gonna have a hard time to get the good ones.
Maybe you should support an actor who’s always serious but such actor can lie without even you realizing. I’ve seen a few Jen’s interviews and she’s very talkative, expressive and funny. I’m not as invested in her life as to know if she makes up stuff but I easily notice if she’s joking or trolling because she deliberately exagerates her tone and even at the end she fesses up that she was joking. You realize that she doesn’t have intention of fooling people. I can’t say the same about Rob, I still am not able to decipher when he’s being sincere and when he’s not but I think that people have noticed that his actions contradict his words, hence so many fans have turned on him as of late. It’s not that funny.

When I was advised on this exact board to lay off whatever I’m smoking nobody was called judgmental. When I made a simple, non-insulting suggestion I’m already judging. Leo was intelligent. Shortly after Titanic, when he realized there was too much hype and gossip around him, he dissapeared for a year or more. Then the gossip died down and he could go on with a pretty good and serious career. I don’t know whether Rob is intelligent but he clearly lacks of Leo’s self esteem and confidence, otherwise he had cut off long ago this stupid robsten/nonsten/Twi game that is making a complete idiot of him. He should have quitted Miss momentary indiscretion to the curb, leaving all the Twi shit behind so the Industry and public could see him under a different light… but he is like he is…
BTW I haven’t seen any congratulations twitt from any of Miss Stew’s twilight mates.
