Rob dumped her but honestly its obvious Kristen was happier without him so no loss on her part besides losing her pool boy and cash cow. She buried that girl long long ago so never gonna happen. Set for life or not she wants this career, she has said it several times and no matter how much money she has it can not make up for the thing she wants to do most. Never say never Lisa, my dad used to be a raging alcoholic but he changed his life around and has been sober for years even though his siblings turned their back on him and said oh he will never change. He hit rock bottom and grew up. I don’t think Kristen cares at this point but she is still young and has time to grow up maybe once the cameras are gone she will come to appreciate her good fortune more.
Kristen has stated she loves acting not fame so she doesn’t need to have big blockbusters or big movies she has said she will continue to do indies as long as she can act. So camp x ray might end up in red box but she doesn’t need the big blockbuster film money she is set for life so she can still act in shit movies even in a supporting role, without the pressure of money the same for Rob. As for karma well I think she’s getting some of what she has put out but I get the feeling Kristen just doesn’t care which is so frustrating as a former fan to see. I want her to care and I want the Kristen who was smiling and happy and kind.
Shame that she hasn’t decided to stop working and just retire to roll around in all of that Twilight/Robsten money. I’m sure that Starbucks and the local 7-11 would still take the bills, even if they were creased and greasy!

That is how I feel but I sort of feel bad that this whole circus seemed to turn into something nasty and it changed both Rob and Kristen. Do you remember the VF shoot with the Twilight cast? That is the Rob and Kristen who I wished would make a comeback not so damn jaded or putting on bitchfaces but having fun before they decided they hated fame. The twilight fandom used to be a fun fandom almost as fun as the Charmed and Buffy fandom but then it turned into something so nasty.
I remember it. I miss it sometimes when I look at my old videos/pictures on my computer of 2008-early 2009. Those were fun times back when Twilight phenomenon wasn’t so out of control. It was just a nice love story with a cool sexy young cast. All the twilight BTS stuff was so easy and fun. I do miss those days. It’s one of the reasons, the first twilight has always been my favorite. It reminds me when it was just a small independent movie, not the cash cow it became. After twilight, I just stopped caring for the whole saga in general, only watched it cause I like Rob.
That photoshoot was when I really became more invested in Kristen because I said wow she is going to make it big…I honestly don’t think Rob or Kristen knew what they were getting themselves into when they signed that dotted line. It just became so much bigger than them so a part of me does sympathize with them. It’s just sickening to me what HW does to these young stars and if the parents are not around to keep them grounded then those kids are going to have issues.
Here’s my thing about all of that – everyone involved were witness to the pandemonium surrounding the Twit films and if they hated the attention and/or fame aspect of it all, then why sign on for FOUR more years/movies and prolong their agony? Twilight was my favourite movie from the Saga too, it was a nice love story with an unknown cast and I was happy when they announced the remaining sequels, but unlike THG they marred the whole thing by mixing up Ed/Bella with Rob/KStew and the “Keep ’em guessing”. It was atrocious and it turned all into a shameful Circus, including insane Sheep worshipping a non existent couple.

I have a question – does anyone think that a major movie company (scummit) can dictate whom your seen with or pretend to have a fauxmance with? That’s always bothered me to some extent because why would movie execs put/or require that in a contract? I know one reason would be money but it just seems so, oh I don’t know – transparent/stupid. Would the movie have flopped without it? Why would the actors agree to that? Or maybe it was r/k who wanted to go that route. It just seems so 1950’s film industry attitude. I think it means he’s loyal. Even if he was pissed at her and could have kicked her to the curb, using this situation to his benefit the moment the public was on his side, he chose to threaten his career and his source of income instead. We know things would look differently now if he had decided to let her clean her own mess all alone and threw her to the wolves. He was in the position to wrap the public around his finger. Just look at the boards from August 2012 and see how different the general mood was right after the cheating. This situation showed that he’s a team player. He had options and one of the options would have been extremely beneficial for him but possibly destructive for many people, whether they deserved it or not. He proved there are things he values more than his image and reputation. His job is finished now. He already carried the cross for not only his own mistakes, but also hers and Summit’s. He wasn’t saint but I guess he wasn’t ruthless enough either so he has to pay for it. He was weak. Because it’s so much easier to face media and public head on, humiliated, knowing they are pointing their fingers at you laughing than drop the bombs, putting on the charming pants and enjoying the attention and fame. Humility and sacrifice are seen as weaknesses these days. The individualism rules the world and is celebrated. If he had destroyed her back in August 2012, lots of people would have celebrated him. The people who call him a spineless doormat now, he’d be their hero for throwing her off the rock and ruining her.

I submit that celebs are played and manipulated, at the outset, just as much as the rest of us simple people who are not part of the powers that be.. And when they finally realize what they’ve done, if it really sucks, it’s too late and they continue until the play is done… For their own reputation in the industry (not necessarily with the fans)…
After all, I believe that the powers that be are very ‘persuasive’ with their words and money… It’s a very tough business, like all big business and politics, not for the weak at heart, but the young and naive are great, easy, cheap, and available for the picking… And exploitation/manipulation…. :(.

333 – i am 100% behind you on this. Rob could of thrown Kristen under the bus and rightfully so, but he chose not to i, in my humble opinion, believe it had nothing to with $ at that point. The cheques and residual deals were already cut, signed, and cashed. He had nothing more to gain and could of easily let her sit in her own shit thru it all.
Which brings me back to Bren’s original post. I too, have struggled with Summit’s power and involvement in all this.
I don’t think they needed to intervene as it was already playing out in their favour.
This is what i have always believed….
Rob & Kristen were in a real relationship yet utilized the global fascination of are they aren’t they to their advantage. The mystique fed the interest, the interest fed their relevancy, their relevancy fed them roles and the roles fed their bank accounts. So that is where the pr factor comes into play for me.
With it all, kristen’s ego became so inflated and started to resent Rob. People liked Rob whereas people’s like for Kristen was more about her attachment to Rob. K has always had far more haters than fans. She wasn’t this big star she lived and breathed to be. She was simply the twilight chick and Rob Pattinson’s girlfriend. Throw in the fact that he was suddenly offered all these roles at time with well known directors and casts ( some of which have not materialized) but were there nonetheless, only fuelled her resentment and jealousy towards Rob.
Hence the affair with Rupert, whom she stupidly believed was the next Spielberg. Between her blind infatuation with Rupert and her “it girl” status, i believe their plan was to wait till BD2 promo/release was completed and come out as Hollywood’s next power couple.
And then they got busted and Kristen learned not only what rock bottom looked like, but there’s 13 layers of shit below rock bottom.
Post scandal is where lines got blurred with me as to what was and what was not.
Did Rob really try to forgive her and give her another shot or was he only trying to help her out?

I get what your saying Dorothy but then what made him dump her in May. The contract theory just makes sense to me. They always looked so miserable together and when he was on Cosmo set she only went to visit once rumors were getting loud about him and Caitlyn. And no man could take back his cheating GF (50 pictures to prove it) in just 5 weeks. That would take a lot of healing and therapy as a couple. But there they were on the red carpet promoting BD2. Just does not make sense. The BFF theory makes much more sense to me and he helped her out last year because of their friendship but had it with her this year as she got worse and worse and resented him more and more.

Oh i don’t disagree with anything you ladies are saying. There’s so many things in all this that makes sense yet don’t make sense at the same time. Which is why i am in that state of “i dunno” most of the time. Now “if”, if being the operative word here, the reconciliation was real, then i believe he dumped her for the exact same reasons Lisa stated. We have to remember ladies – Rob always felt grateful to Shrew because she “chose” him to play Edward. When he got that part he was sleeping on Hardwicks couch and was ready to give up acting and go back home to England. His acting dream – dead in the water. Perhaps in his eyes she is the responsible for his fame and fortune. Which of course would instill a deep sense of loyalty. Maybe he didn’t realize how MUCH he would have to sacrifice as her ego became so out of control and she kept demanding more and more from her. Of course she would confide in him and he probably could empathize from her POV about fame, so some times I’m sure it was a no brainer to cover her ass. Afterall, as I’m sure he was reminded time and time again – if not for her, he would be back at home with no money, no fame, and no acting career. I know first hand how easy it is to get caught up in a situation you wouldn’t dream of ever finding yourself contributing to, but little by little and before you know it you are in WAY over your head. Oh yes Lisa! Bitch was drinking and making a scene at our house BBQ party. When my brother told her to calm down, she started punching him and calling all sorts of names, well I lost my temper and went after her. I grabbed her by the hair and went nuts. My brother and my dad had to pull me away cause I was SO angry. No one, I mean no one attacks my brother and gets away with it.
My brother told her to leave and he finally after that broke things off with her psycho skanky ass!
I’ve always felt bad for Taylor Lautner. He was the third wheel in a dysfunctional coupling. I give him credit for smiling and posing with those two like everything was just fine. After the first two twi movies you could tell something was different in the dynamics between those three. He must have witnessed some epic piss matches between r/k. The last interview the three did together, where rob said he wanted to knock sten off her chair, you could see in Taylor’s face that he knew rob meant it and it was like he was holding his breath, waiting for sten to pounce.
I think the whole cast got tired of each other after the 2nd movie. Stens moody personality must have been a real Debbie downer to be around. Yes, I agree he didn’t want to feed her to the hyenas by totally turning his back on her. I would have berated him if he did that. After all, Kristen has been a good friend to Rob. She has. And vice versa. The Eclipse commentary was so much fun because of the friendship they shared. I doubt they were ever a “serious” couple, but I will never doubt their friendship up until BD1.

Aishwarya,I think being seen together “romantically” was the whole point of the post scandal charade. Sheep wanted to see an epic love, not a friendship. I’m not sure if friendship would look believable. She cheated and humiliated him. If couples break up due to adultery, they rarely remain friends. There’s too much hurt and anger, unless the love is so strong it will overcome everything. I think this is how they tried to present it. To make the fans believe he still loved her and decided to give her another chance, so they wouldn’t hate her for ruining Robsten. The problem was they didn’t look in love. It’s like they had to force themselves to act civil around each other. She had to control herself to not be her usual arrogant, bitchy self while he was more snarky with her than usual. At the end he looked even pissed, like he hated the whole idea. Maybe one day when all this craziness and drama will be just a distant memory they will be able to forget the bad things and remain friends. That’s if they still have something in common.
I can kinda see what you are saying here. You have to wonder how much of he PRsten script did the studio write and how much came from those crazy sheeple who wanted them together no matter what. I can remember MANY times reading through pages of crazy in total shock. In hind site, I can see how all they had to do is go about their lives and the sheep would write their ‘love story’ for them. Cali last year was already in preproduction and she was supposed to start filming in August but then came the cheating scandal and she had dropped out of the leading role which she was also a producer.

She even banned Tiffany from chewing gum in the house because she said she looked like cow when she chewed gum.
She spend 10K to have Tiffany’s teeth bonded at the age of 14 because she said her teeth were not proportional to her full lips. Subsequently that bonding at such a young age caused her teeth to shift years later, and Tiffany was forced to get braces in her 30’s to correct them.
At 16, she took her to a plastic surgeon to fill in two tiny scars she had on her face from chicken pocks she had gotten as a child. These scars were so tiny and not visible to the human eye unless they were pointed out. I never even noticed them and i’ve known Tiff since we were 8. And u certainly didn’t see the difference when mommy dearest had them filled.
Now if you listen to her mom speak to anyone even to this day, she goes on and on about how beautiful Tiffany is, and how smart she is, and how well she always did in school, and what a great career she has, and what a fantastic wife and mother she’s become. The problem is she never once told Tiffany all those things.
I recently had a friend (now a mere acquaintance) who’s 14 year old daughter developed an eating disorder. Instead of being a concerned mother and getting her daughter the help she needed, she blamed her daughter for throwing a wrench into her “perfect” little world.
Her exact words to me were ” everything was going so great until Ariel fucked it all up”. That was the point for me when i realized i can no longer be her friend. I cannot endorse a person who puts her own feelings and needs before her children’s. Especially since i think she is the root of her daughter’s disorder.
Lisa would wake up everyday and spend an hour on her hair and put on a full face of make-up before she would make breakfast for her kids. She got her nails done weekly and all her outfits were so perfectly put together. She was at the salon all the time and her house was immaculate 24/7, not a thing was ever out of place.
I believe you lead by example and sadly, this was the example she set for her daughter.
Kids are a product of their environment, especially impressionable teenage girls.

I’ve never understood that. I am an educated woman with a career and a bank account. But i clean my house everyday and that includes my bf’s mess at times, as he is not an untidy man. Unless we are dining out, i cook US three meals a day and for anyone that walks into my home. I will never cook for myself and make him fend for himself. Maybe it’s the Greek in me and have a traditional european mother who kept us very clean and well fed our entire lives. But with all do respect i don’t think not willing to cook and clean makes you an equal or even superior to a man…it just makes you lazy.

I have never thought WTF? to myself more than I have here.
I have never witnessed to predict an actor’s dark future so many times either. If we make predictions of how he will look like and how his career will end, why not to mention an actual ending? I don’t get why people are so uncomfortable when death is mentioned. It’s a normal and natural part of your life journey. It also means a new beginning (I know not everyone believes in it though). It gives you a new chance and hope for a better future. It’s weird to bring up an actor’s death, which is like a closed chapter and a new beginning but it’s normal to make negative predictions about his current life’s future? The negativity of this world won’t hurt you once you’re gone but it can hurt you while you’re still here. So what is worse, calling him a loser and failure when he’s still alive or mentioning the point of his life when all the bad things reach their end and he can have a new beginning? I know it might sound super weird and crazy to you but this is how I see it. I don’t wish him death or anything bad. He will die when he’s supposed to, just like all of us. But if people say he’ll be seen as this loser for the rest of his life, I point out it’s just one life out of many.

You don’t have to be obsessed to stick with him. All it takes are normal priorities (movies) and confidence. If you are confident enough to tell what you think, you could care less what the others, especially the ones who love to jump on the bandwagon, think. Even if you were the only one. People like winners… Who are they? The most popular pop singer, Justin Bieber, he is supposed to be the winner? Or the most popular rapper, Kanye West. His private life is surely something to be proud of But of course, if Rob fans prefer to follow the main crowd and will be embarrassed to admit they like his movie in case it’s good and he’s good in it, then he can’t expect much support. And maybe it’s good to lose such fans who care so much what the others think they are afraid and embarrassed to show their true feelings. Maybe it’s better to become an average actor. The same as many others that you can see in thousands of movies, who can quietly enjoy the success of the movies they’re part of without people paying any attention to them.
You can’t become an “average actor” who lives their life quietly when you’re a tabloid punchline. That’s why many of us have had to shake our heads and back away. If he doesn’t seem to care about his career and image, why should I?
