Producer Liz Watts is calling David Michod’s new film The Rover “a dirty and dangerous near-future western set in the Australian desert”.
She confirmed what the Internet is buzzing about: that Guy Pearce and Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson are in discussions to play, respectively, a man in pursuit of the people who stole his car and the brother of one of the thieves in Michod’s follow-up to Animal Kingdom.
Reluctantly, Watts also added a few more details: it is hoped that The Rover will go into production late in the year and discussions about the project started 18 months ago between Michod and US producer David Linde.
Last year Linde opened the production and financing outfit Lava Bear Films with backing from Reliance Entertainment. At the time the company announced it had a first-look deal with Universal Pictures for the US and other significant international territories. Linde was, at one time, co-chair of Universal.
Linde is producing with Watts of Porchlight Films and Lava Bear president Tory Metzger will also be prominent in the credits.
Watts said that Libby Sharpe will act as line producer and the intention was to claim the producer offset.
Michod wrote the script based on an idea dreamt up by he and Joel Edgerton, one of Michod’s six partners in the Sydney-based film collective Blue-Tongue Films.

Anything we did talk about had to do with Toronto and the local hangouts and the weather was mostly it. I’m not an insider, I don’t know anything about either of them and only worked on the same set with him for a few months. I believe they are a couple and everyone on set knew. He’s a great guy and it was great to work with him. I’m still pretty new in the business and hope to expand my career going forward. It’s a shame he’s not working on any new movies in Toronto. He did love it here since you can really lay low and the food it great and so’s our beer. Also if he was signal I would have gone after him. He is very handsome and he has a great accent and we are part of the commonwealth so I think he would like it here.

I guess i was a floater in the discussions on here…reading and silently agreeing…hate people hating me 😦 lol but have kept up since like sept? of last yr anddd at that time was still a twilight fan and thought oooh these 2 are def together…andddd guess what…was dumb enough and went to campout and do that tent city stuff!….BIG MISTAKE…i mean I thought i liked twilight but lets just say there are ppl who def like it MUCH MUCH more lol…i will NEVER do that again..least not twilight related…so much pushing and bitchiness…im usually quiet and laid back? or i like to observe i guess and take in whats around me. Thatttt was a horrible experience in LA and def made me learn I am def no where near as twi-hard…or twi-fan as i thought. But anyways…having them right in front of you def changed my mind among reading the blogs n tumblr that their not a couple. They honestly hardly touched for the pics the photogs were taking…one they smiled enough they moved on, and spilt…didn’t stay by each other. K also rushed by everyone where Rob was trying to sign as much as he could. To me if a couple is in love, or in a relationship AT ALL. you can see it and others can feel it right? They do not give off that vibe at all and he had more of a smile around the fans than when he turned around for pics with her. She ignored where I was on the carpet…well behind the barricade at least…she looked like she couldn’t wait to go and annoyed. i get the games thing you mention…the more pics i look at the more I see it and esp how the whole twi-fandom tries to figure out where they are or why their going to wherever!…even if they were a “shy couple” why cant they hold hands in public? you never see that lol…their just off to me!

Lol thank u! and definitely! They don’t care who or what they have to trample to get a pic or an autograph! In fact the girl i had behind me leaned on me and over me to get autographs….So of course i hardly got any autographs! Most just had a stick up their ass…thought they were amazing and the biggest fan there…to me I wouldnt want to be known as a fan or twi-fan. Imagine going to another premiere that isn’t twilight and having one of the cast be like “oh S**t! its one of the crazies who camped out!” lol..some are just too hardcore for me!

I hope these KS fangirls are learning a lesson from all of this. There IS a time and a place to dress according to an event. (it’s called etiquette) There’s a time to wear rebel clothes and a time to dress appropriately. The other young actresses and models looked beautiful and yet they were still being themselves. That horrible dress and football cleats K is wearing is not called “being yourself.” It’s called looking like a fool!
