The thing I don’t understand is why it is so important for so many people whom he’s friend with. What does it have to do with his talent or the movie he picks? I see people talking about giving him another chance. A chance to do what? If their fan support is conditioned by the people he dates or is friends with, then I think there’s not even a reason to use the word “fan”. Robsten, Nonsten and even Prsten were given a chance to start from the beginning when he went to Australia. He’d been silent for almost 4 months and had offered nothing but work related info, five very interested movie projects that caught the attention of movie fans. But what were the reactions of his followers? All Robsten cared about was whether she would visit him or when they would reunite. And those who are against Robsten weren’t better. They complained the things were getting boring and they wanted to see Robsten so they could laugh. Robsten, Nonsten and Prsten are all equally irrelevant as fans or followers. There’s zero potential. I’m sure Rob and the movie producers are well aware of it. They proved with his non TW movies that they could care less about his acting or movies. It’s all about whom he should or shouldn’t date or be friends with. Those who say they are done with him…be honest with yourself. Would you really support him if he kicked her to the curb or found a girlfriend? You might think you would but I think you wouldn’t. If his movies aren’t your priority and you don’t even think he’s talented, you’re not his fans. You are the followers who would sooner or later find somebody new to follow as there isn’t any solid ground for a fan-actor relationship. I’m not a fan of Kristen but at least their friendship, no matter how superficial or deep it is, seems to be genuine. This is still more than what Robsten and Nonsten have to offer to him. They can give him literally nothing. It’s all about taking. Entertainment, fictional love stories etc. Fortunately, there are still filmmakers, fans or movie fans in general whose main concern is the movie quality and performance of the actors. And for the rest, my advice is let him go, don’t give him conditions (it’s not like you can pick him friends or girlfriends). Worship him or mock him, it really doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, you never really believed in his talent or acting anyway.

I think RP and KS began as insecure individuals with little self esteem and little self confidence. I think they are, at their nature, introverted, socially awkward individuals.
Both RP and KS are the stars of a movie franchise that is an incredibly intense experience- for anyone, even someone who is emotionally and intellectually stable and secure in himself / herself. But for two young people, like RP and KS, I think the spotlight magnified and intensified their character flaws. I think with no real identity of their own, they gravitated towards each other not just because they have similar personalities, but because they, like the fans, ‘bought into’ their characters and incorporated the characters into their lives and into their personalities.
That is why I believe their relationship has endured. The movies have wrapped, but they continue to live the movie. They are comfortable with each other, they accept each other’s quirks and eccentricities and character flaws.
Anyone else, after such a public humiliation, would kick their partner to the curb. He stayed. Not to sell a movie franchise, but because his life is so permanently entwined with hers in every way.
To sum it up- he is as emotionally retarded as she is, and devoid of any real personality beyond his movie roles

I’ll never hate him or have any animosity towards him, but I just can’t follow and admire an actor who would so debase himself for a woman like KS. I don’t even find him attractive anymore, and I used to think he was so hot. lol

IMO, his hope are the people on various movie sites, who genuinely are excited for The Rover or might be excited for his future movies if they’re good and who could care less about the Robsten thing. Such people do exist. All it takes is a talent and good movies. You either see it in an actor or don’t. Jack Nicholson is a good example. Everyone knows he’s an old, unmoral pervert. Jack doesn’t even try to hide it. In fact, he seems to be proud about it. But his movies are good and he’s a good actor. That’s his hope, present and future. He’s hardly likable, he’s not even handsome but if your priority are movies, you can be the fan and supporter of his movies without even liking him as a person. If your priority is something else, then IMO you would not support the actor in the future. Perhaps for a while, then you would lose interest and find somebody else to follow.

I own all his movies on dvd(even the bad mothers handbook and the haunted airman), except for BA and Cosmo. I just haven’t been impressed with his acting since Little Ashes. I saw RM in theater, as well as WFE. That was the last one. Besides his performance in the showmance, his support of a sneering dirty little tramp, I get the impression he’s not even trying to improve his acting any more. I’m not going to waste my time and $ on someone who doesn’t care enough to try to improve, and on someone who sides with batshit crazy fans. That’s me.

As I said many times before, I think an actor has fans and followers. I think the followers are the people who follow the news about an actor mainly for the entertainment. All fans are followers but not all followers are fans. Robsten, Nonsten, Prsten and Robsessed pretty much follow Rob for entertainment, whether they like him or not. I’m all for gossips and fun. I just don’t get when a followers claims they would be fans of an actor if he didn’t date a certain person. In my eyes, a fan of an actor is a person that supports the actor based on his acting, not his free time activities. First of all 333, no one goes to see movies just because of the actors any more. The days of “sure fire bank ability” are over in hw. People see films if the movie appeals to them based mostly on the marketing of the film. Robs films were all marketed on ROBSTEN: all his costars talked about his relationship, about the “twilight” connections etc. They all benefitted from the SHEEP support because prior to July 2012, sheep out numbered nonstens by a lot. I’m not sure about post rupsten but it seems that Kristen and Rob at least believe that there is more milk in the Robsten cash cow so they have elected to carry on with business as usual. All of this has nothing to do with his acting and has everything to do with the PRESS he generates while associated with her and vice versa. And in the end it’s better to b hated than ignored- at least that seems to b her strategy as she courts the publics disgust IMO
Rs007, If it was all about the public image, then actors like Tom Cruise, Charlie Sheen, Sean Penn and Jack Nicholson would have been done decades ago. Besides, all of his upcoming movies are non HW indies. Like if an average tabloid lover watched non US indies anyway. IMO, the main problem is some ex fans of Rob became his ex fans because they despise Kristen so much that everything else goes aside and fades in comparison. They give one single fan made picture so much power that they believe it’s more powerful than the art of people like Herzog, Michod and Cronenberg combined together. Out of my respect for good old cinematography alone, I still believe in the power of good movies and performances. And I know I’m not the only one. Truth be told dc291,when I first saw it, it looked like a manip to me. I guess the way I had it angled,the shading of it from the background, it really looks like someone did a cut and paste. But I have no clue, I’m not a photo pro, lol, so I guess I’ll assume it’s real until I hear otherwise.

I completely agree. I was a Robsten, not krisbian, but I liked Kristen quite a lot. Her personality, I didn’t really know she was so mean to paps at Cannes, I didn’t see the other side of the picture. Rob used to go around bar-hopping everyday, I wondered thats why he stays with Kristen. Because she probably lets him. No other gf in the world would encourage that kind of a lifestyle. People call her a stoner and what not, and yet he’s the one that smokes and drinks evidently more than her like a drunk- squalor freak. When he tried to show affection to her, she always snapped back at him . I thought that was rude. But if you see, that guy has had the balls to show affection to her much to the wrath of nonstens only at a movie premier. They both have been mismatched, in hindsight.
Kristen is stupid to have messed around in public, but I think she did because sub-consciously she knew Rob was going to be easy to convince (or was there any convincing that took place at all). That guy is so dumb, he thinks he’s smart. He is actually smart in retaining his fanbase. @333, I was asleep back when you called us all non-fans or whatever. Obviously we aren’t fans of his, you didn’t make a discovery there. How can you be a fan of someone’s without taking a slight interest even in their personal lives. Ofcourse, you are above us all, and you can do it. But you say we never were a fan of his before and will never be. Yes, will never be. But all of us were at some point a fan of his. First of all, he doesn’t have that much talent, not yet. Aiswarya, I rarely watch TV and don’t like Arnie’s movies. I like other actors. Recently I went to see Django Unchained. My reason was Tarantino, Dicaprio and Waltz. I ended up loving it. Yet, I think Tarantino is an old, prostitutes loving perv, Dicaprio is a manwhore whose VS girlfriends get younger the older he gets. As for Waltz, I don’t know anything about him. But I love these guys’ movies, especially Leo’s. With Rob, I firstly saw potential. Some roles were better, some were worse. Then Cosmo came and it wasn’t just potential. It was a great performance on par with Dicaprio’s acting in his late twenties. Now Michod is coming. Animal Kingdom is a great movie, The Rover sounds good too. I respect Michod’s judgment. Not to mention Herzog’s, the director with the historical third highest rating, who once pointed his gun at an actor to „either act or die”, forced a crew into an active volcano and set an actor on fire and run him over with a truck. If he thinks Rob is worth of his movie, I’m interested. When great directors make movies, I won’t miss them just because the actor is friends with Kristen Stewart. She doesn’t hold such power. Rob is an actor and entertainer. If I was only a fan of Rob the entertainer and thought he wasn’t talented, I would possibly see it the same way as you but I’m a fan of the actor too.

His first movie after Titanic was Man in The Iron Mask (1998) that brought him a Golden Razzie. His second movie Celebrity hardly earned $5 million. It wasn’t before he met Scorsese (2002) that he started to slowly lose his bad rep. That’s when the relationship with Marty started, and he started to get offers from very interesting people. It really helped him to master his skills. Exactly like Rob did right after Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis. Just like Marty with Leo, David wants to work with him again. Even the nature of their roles is very similar, trying to shred the heartthrob image. I won’t try to change your mind either, after all I’m used to this. I was the only one in my class, my family and even my group of friends who believed in Leo. I remember how I went to see his movie The Beach alone, and most people left the cinema. Nowadays I don’t know one person who thinks he sucks and I have to reserve the tickets if I want to have a good seats.

I am generally a funny girl in college. My friends pull my leg and love me and I love them too. I love being the funny one. And I never get angry when they tease me, its all good fun. But once one of my friends called me an idiot in front of my other classmates, who weren’t my friends, I retorted and shot back at her in front of them. She never did it again. She’s still my best friend.
Thats how it works. You can be a good natured person, you should infact. But when people try to boss over you, you should claim your respect. Thats how you will be respected. This was just a small incident and she didn’t mean to hurt me, but she never did it again.

Oh the power of social media. What I thought to be a humorous Instagram & Twitter post, very quickly turned into a viral (that word is horrible I know) celebrity news story. For those of you who don’t pay attention to celebrity gossip… I shot a photo of my friend Lany Morrison with Twilight stars Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart since they happened to be hanging out at the same bar I was at with my friends on a Tuesday. Little did I know that photo was going to spread like wildfire across every entertainment media site around the world.
First of all, I have never even seen any of the Twilight movies… and I only recognized “Robsten” because you would have to be living under a rock to at least not know what they look like. With that being said, I definitely don’t pay attention to celebrity gossip. I didn’t know that these two were ever a couple… much less that they had been supposedly broken up and my photo was going to be the first proof in two months that they had even seen eachother in person. Had I known that there was so much media hype built around these two, I probably wouldn’t have even asked them if I could take a picture, with the fear of making them feel uncomfortable and skeptical of my intentions. I almost didn’t even post the image, thinking that it would be corny to blast out a “celebrity sighting”. However, after posting the photo I quickly realized how diehard their fan base is and in turn, how hungry the media was for any dirt on these two. It’s funny that I have been shooting photos for years and now my most publicized one is a blurry pic I took with an iPhone.
Within minutes the photo had been shared thousands of times on twitter, causing the tag “#robsten” to trend worldwide, and “liked” hundreds of times on Instagram. I was bombarded by tweets from fans asking me every little detail of what I saw, and e-mails & phone calls from every media outlet from People, to E!, to Perez Hilton, to US Weekly asking me the same questions. I had to turn all notifications off on my phone because I thought it was going to overheat from vibrating so much. Due to not wanting to cause drama and the Twitter character limit, I was vague in my answers giving responses like, “I just ran into them at a karaoke bar by my house… mellow night. They were just there hanging out with a few friends.” And avoided questions that I knew would just foster rumors like if Kristen was pregnant, or if there was any PDA going on. I responded to those saying that I wasn’t paying close enough attention to give an honest answer… because that was the truth. They were just normal people hanging out at a bar trying to enjoy themselves, I wasn’t going to be all googly-eyed watching their every move. Quickly my words were twisted and assumptions had been made that these two were “officially back together” just because they were posing in a picture together.
I feel weird having caused such a huge uproar in celebrity gossip, so to set the record straight this is exactly what I saw that night. My friend Lany spotted Robert & Kristen with two other friends (one guy one girl) while we were standing outside our small, local karaoke dive bar, Ye Rustic Inn. Lany is a fan so she told me she thought it would be cool to get a photo with them. Being a photographer and used to approaching people for photos, so I walked up to them and asked if I could take a photo of them with Lany using my iPhone. Kristen was enthusiastic about it, putting her arm around Lany and cracking a smile… however Robert wasn’t keen on the idea… jokingly trying to get me to take the photo with his back to the camera. Kristen told him to stop being an asshole and the result is the photo that spread like wildfire. After I shot the photo everyone headed into the bar and their group went straight into a booth in the back so they could have at least some privacy. From then on I mostly minded my own business. Occasionally I would glace over and their crew would be laughing or joking around with the bartender that was bringing drinks to their table… and their guy friend that was with them sang one karaoke song but “Robsten” never got on the mic. Once the bar closed around 2 everyone shuffled out and as I was biking home I saw their crew hanging around a truck talking, ready to leave to wherever they were going next. Yes they seemed to be enjoying eachother’s company, yes Kristen Stewart is capable of smiling, yes they were sitting next to eachother in a booth… but none of which is clear evidence that Robert and Kristen are “officially back together”… even if my friend Lany told press that she had her hand on his back. But who knows, maybe they were never even broken up in the first place and it was just a story the media dreamed up since Robert was out of the country filming for a movie.
I guess I’m writing this because the 24 hours of dealing with all the fans and media was basically an interesting social experiment to me… I got to sit front row at a circus and watch and be involved in the craziness that ensued. On one hand it was insane to see how obsessed fans were about every single detail on “Robsten”… seemingly living their lives vicariously through a celebrity. But on the other hand it was entertaining to see how the media will take the smallest little thing, basically create a back story off of limited information, and run with it just to stir the pot. Most of which didn’t even contact me for details, just basing the story and quotes around a few tweets I sent out. And in turn I watched all these hyper-fans eat up every little detail the media put out, and even imagine up their own more elaborate story of what happened that night based on the little information the media gave out. This unexpected “experience”, I guess you could call it, has given me a brief glance at what some celebrities have to deal with on a regular basis… and to be honest, it’s a little scary.

Ok, so he won’t break the contract. What if he DID break it, what would happen? Would she let him go? Or she probably wouldn’t be as nice as him last summer by keeping up the charade and do something just to be an asshole about it. Because I feel like there should be an eye for an eye – she broke it last summer. If he so tired of her, just break the damn contract then already. I could see Bob going along with some sort of PR charade for the BD2 premieres. I was expecting there to be a ‘reconciliation’ so the diehard Bella/Edward-4-eva fans wouldn’t lose their shit. I also expected the ‘reunion’ to continue for a fair amount of time thereafter so it wouldn’t appear to be anything other than genuine. Bob showed the studios that he is more than a team player. Probably a good move on his part, show the studios that he is loyal to their bottom line. I doubt this was laid out in a legally binding contract.
Going off to Oz seemed to be an appropriate time to let Edward fade away and Bob to begin a new phase of his career. The Rover seemed far off from the twicrap and Bob’s silence (and stews endless photo-ops) made me think that the magical ‘couple’ were ending. Coming back to LA (dogbabies be damned) is probably the beginning of the end for Bob. No top name actor wants to have his/her name dragged into the prsten crap. Jude Law backed out of one of Bob’s upcoming films as did Rachel Weiss (don’t know if that’s spelled correctly). We already know how enthused other actors are to attach their name to stew’s. Bob’s his own worst enemy.
@Lizzy, Rob was already attached to the MTTS in times when Cronenberg was only playing with the idea to do the movie. Rachel Weisz joined the supposed cast much later so she knew from the day one Rob’s in it. The same goes for QOTD. Jude officially joined the cast in November 2012, right in the middle of the Robsten craziness. He knew Rob was part of the movie and he had a choice to not accept the role in the first place. If Rachel and Jude really backed out because of Rob, it means they are unprofessional and disrespectful to the directors and producers but I refuse to believe they would be like that. My guess is Jude’s reason is schedule conflict and Rachel probably decided to back off once the script was finished. The movie is supposed to be very controversial. The theme of incest between two perverted siblings was probably too much for her.

I have read your posts and I can see your point of view. You appear to be a fan of Rob because of his acting, not his shenanigans. For me, it was the other way around. I first saw him as Cedric in HP. Though he was good for the part as were most of the other actors which were chosen for that series. I didn’t follow his career, nor did I know his name until he was cast as Edward. I became interested when I saw his awkward and cringe worthy interviews. He seemed like a regular guy thrown into an extraordinary circumstance. More than once his ass fell out the back of his pants when he bent over. When news came out that he would have 2 songs on the Twi soundtrack, he immediately started talking about his 2 friends that worked on the pieces. He brought them to the forefront.
